Press release, talking points
and diocesan newspaper
templates

If you distributed a release in Waves 1 and 2, you would not need to do so again. If you did not or are new to the campaign, you are expected to execute this step in Wave 3. As a “full” participant, you are asked to share a press release with local media in your community announcing your participation in the campaign. The template below provides an opportunity for you to personalize the release to be specific to your agency’s services. Catholic Charities USA will distribute a version of this release via its distribution platform, which hits roughly 30,000 news desks nationwide. The talking points provided are to aid you in framing your membership within the larger network as you speak to local media during the campaign. Finally, below are a few article starters that you can complete and share with your local diocesan newspaper to bolster awareness of the campaign in your local diocese.
New Addition: We've added two new diocesan story templates to the document below, featuring volunteer and community gardens.
